The chosen variety was “Mencía” from 55 years old vineyards and, for their sparkling wine, the Godello grape variety was used. That is how this wine has become the first Godello´s Sparkling wine of this region, Castilla y León.
The viticulture frame is supported with 50 hectares of vineyard. These two wine-makers have decided to practice the well-known philosophy like “title separation”. All the vineyards are managed personally taking care of ecological grape growing.
Located to the Northwest of the Province of Leon, the Bierzo area has a special microclimate where the humidity and the Castilian dry climate are intermingled causing an excellent hydric balance for the grapes. The soils are made of limestone and mineral slate grounds and - muddy they are the outstanding in this zone.
